Happy New Year!! As i wished for, i experienced a typical Japanese way of spending new year (:
I went to a famous shrine on new year eve before midnight and did "countdown" with the crowds. with inverted commas because, it wasn't an official countdown so people were not that excited as there were no fireworks whatsoever. but the shrine was full of people, and we had to wait for our turns to get in and that takes more than an hour.
Look at how huge the coins collection thingy is compared to the normal one. lol. people just threw their coins in all the way from the back. also did 恋みくじ and it was 吉 haha. by the time i reached home it was already 4am. thank you dani for sending me home ^^ feel somewhat nostalgic for coming home so late and having someone to send home feels good heheh.
On the first day of new year, i went to host family place and made cookies! it wasn't what they usually do of course, i just wanted to do something. and we had new year meal like this:
They are not rich family so it's all very simple but i like it. Not the food heheh, i like the experience and i'm grateful they let me join their new year (:
